Colour Primers

Our Colour Primer spray is the perfect time-saving product that allows you to prime and give a base colour to your model simultaneously, saving you a lot of time.

Our unique formula is specially designed to be used for miniature painting and can be used on metal and plastic as well as resin. The superb pigment quality makes the Colour Primers easily cover the first time. The colours are matt and dry quickly, making your freshly sprayed miniatures or models ready for painting almost right away.

Shake
Our Colour Primers are richly pigmented with superb, heavy pigments. This means that it is especially important to give our sprays a thorough shake prior to use. Make sure to shake the can for a full minute in a clockwise/counterclockwise semicircular motion. This motion is important to preserve the glass agitators contained in the can. Give the can a quick extra shake now and again during use.
Distance
Be mindful of your distance when spraying your models. Colour Primers must be used at a distance of 15-20 cm, whereas varnishes must be used at a distance of at least 30cm. It is a good idea to line up your models, meaning you have more control of your spray distance! Randomly placed models might result in some models being sprayed too close while others from too far.
Motion
While spraying, make sure you move the can from side to side in a flowing motion. Start spraying to the side of the model, and move the spray across the model, ending the spray burst when you’ve passed the model. This wat you avoid overspraying your models in the highly pigmented Colour Primer. Don’t spray with short bursts but try to use even sweeps with the spray. Always make sure to do a test on an old model or sprue first.
Clean
Since Colour Primers are a combination of traditional primer and highly pigmented quality acrylic paint the spray is very different to use than other primers. Amongst this, it is sensitive to blocking because of the thick paint jamming the nozzle. It is very important to clean the nozzle after each ended spray session, holding the can upside down and spraying until only gas comes out.
